Systems Administrator
Clark University is seeking a Systems Administrator to maintain and enhance our Research Computing infrastructure. S/he will:
- Partner with research faculty to pair appropriate technology to meet their scientific computing needs.
- Design, implement, maintain, and support the technology.
- Maintain a large High Performance Computing cluster used by researchers, professors, and graduate students to perform complex scientific computing tasks.
- Perform additional Systems Administration tasks as directed.
Required skills:
- BS in computer science or related discipline; comparable work experience may be considered in lieu of specified degree requirement. Recent PhDs seeking post-doctoral work in bioinformatics or computational informatics are also encouraged to apply.
- UNIX/Linux system administration experience
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills; ability to establish effective collaborative working relationships at all levels of the University.
- Experience with HPC technology, parallel computing, scientific informatics and statistical analysis a plus.
This is a full time position currently grant funded for a 3-year period, with the possibility of continuation. Starting salary expected to be $55 - 60K depending on experience.
