Career Opportunities
The position requires the scientist to have a strong background in proteomic applications and methods development, with a strong focus on protein quantification and biomarker discovery. The individual will be responsible for product demonstrations, analyzing customer sample sets, customer training and applications method development. Also they will be responsible for representing the company at scientific meetings and trade shows, often requiring oral presentations of materials with strong scientific content. Approximately 25% overnight travel is required.
Experience and Education
A degree in Chemistry or Biochemistry required along with a minimum of 2 years LC/MS experience in biochemical MS applications, an advanced degree is preferred.

Instrumentation
Tandem MS instrumentation (preferably Quadrupole-TOF)
MALDI
HPLC
Capillary/nano HPLC
Analytical method development with a focus on proteomic applications including;
LC-ESI-MS/MS
LC-UV
Protein sample handling, digestion, clean up
Protein identification, peptide mapping, peptide mass fingerprinting utilizing accurate mass
Protein quantification, differential expression levels
Excellent oral and written communication skills
Preferable Skill Sets:
Knowledge of database searching (MASCOT or similar)
Ion trap MS
Teaching experience
2D LC
Identification of posttranslational modifications
