Senior Scientist - Bioanalytical & Biomarker Development
Position Summary
The primary role of the Senior Scientist is to develop and validate LC/MS/MS methods to support pharmacokinetics, efficacy and biomarker analyses in Preclinical and Clinical studies. The candidate will be responsible for assay development, optimization, troubleshooting, qualification and validation, and documentation for the assigned project. This person will be a contributor in the transfer of qualified assays to the Testing Group and may participate in the validation of the assay as part of the transfer when required. The candidate will routinely interact with other scientists and group leaders. This position's supervisory role is expected to grow with the expansion of the group.
Responsibilities
Assay development, validation, troubleshooting 70 %
Supervision of staff 20%
Method transfer/interaction with other groups 10%
Experience
- Must have hands on experience in LC/MS/MS methods. Proficiency in computer software used for data acquisition/evaluation is necessary. Experience with validation of analytical methods and supervisory experience highly desirable. Innovation, effective communication (oral and written), self motivation and great teamwork in fast-paced and result-driven environment are essential.
- This individual must demonstrate sound scientific judgment and leadership in decision-making. This person must ensure that all work and products are of high quality and will apply corrective measures as needed. The candidate will communicate progress to Senior staff on a regular basis.
- The individual in this position will interact with scientists and group leaders within the Bioanalytical Group and Research Department on a regular basis. This person is expected to serve as a contact with outside vendors and consultants.
- Occasional domestic travel to conferences.
