Applications Scientist
The position is for an Applications Scientist at the US headquarters of Bruker Daltonics in Billerica, MA, with a primary focus on technical sales support, demonstrating instrument and software capabilities to existing and prospective customers in order to generate sales.
Essential Functions
The job will include demonstration of the product to potential customers, running a variety of customer samples, and customer training. In this role, you will focus on new applications development work leading to publications and presentations at conferences and collaborative research with customers and other Bruker scientists. Thus the applicant must show the ability to work with a wide variety of colleagues with different levels of expertise. Excellent communication skills are required, together with experience in writing reviewed papers and giving presentations at technical conferences and marketing seminars that highlight new and innovative application results using Bruker's LC/MS systems.
You will assist with the installation of new LC/MS systems by providing on-site customer training and application specific system testing, utilizing skills that generate the best possible customer support.
Minimum Qualifications
Ph.D. or BS/MS level with several years experience in biological or small molecule and/or proteomics mass spectrometry analysis and HPLC. Additional expertise in biological sample preparation, such as protein purification and protein enzymatic digestion, will be an advantage. Prior successful management of scientists is preferred.Some travel up to 20% will be required.
